Horn Plates

Hi all, I have come across what i think is an error in the drawings.

Where the Backhead of the boiler sits in relation to the rear of the horn plates, The drawing gives 2x measurements - the top of the horn plate has dimensions of 50mm and 55mm - adding up to 105mm, and down the bottom the dimensions are 110mm.

Has anyone come across this before? and can anyone give me the correct measurement for this.

Regards

Hi all, I contacted a company called Shearform yesterday to chase the boiler plate for the boiler... when i quoted them the grade plate that is in the updated drawing, they told me that they supply a very similar if not the same grade of boiler plate that they use for boiler fabrication (GR-A516-70).

Does anyone know if this boilerplate would pass Certification?? Or does anyone have a list of contacts who can supply the boilerplate quoted in the updated drawing? I have tried around, and ...

The original boiler plans drawn by Peter Bucknell no longer comply with the current AMBSC codes, and therefore boiler plans need to either be re-drawn, or sourced elsewhere.

Due to the extreme cost, and lack of general availability of suitably copper these days, the option of a copper boiler is not really viable, leaving us with the option of a steel briggs style boiler.

Several plans for briggs boilers of a suitable size are available, however most are hand-drawn, and leave some critical ...
